Dr Elizabeth Carson from the School of Accounting has received the American Accounting Association Auditing Section Outstanding Dissertation Award for 2008.

Dr Carson is the first person outside the USA to receive this very prestigious award, which recognises the dissertation judged to make the most outstanding contribution to auditing knowledge, for theses completed in the period 2005 to 2007.

Dr Carson's PhD, Global Industry Specialisation by Audit Firm Networks, was supervised by Professor Roger Simnett, who was honoured for his role as her supervisor.
