UNSW Info Day 2007

Close to 9,000 prospective university students came to UNSW for our annual Info Day on Wednesday 3 January.

Info Day gave prospective students the opportunity to consider their study options for 2007. They had last-minute questions answered, saw a slice of university life and enjoyed a free sausage sizzle.

"The University ran workshops and lectures throughout the day helping prospective students to make an informed decision," said Amanda Snowden, Manager, Student Recruitment.

Staff from student services answered questions about admissions, international exchanges, careers, scholarships and housing. Current students also shared their experiences and led tours of the campus.

Vice-Chancellor Professor Fred Hilmer began the day by presenting high-achiever awards to over 60 HSC students who scored a UAI of 99.9 and above.

Professor Hilmer spoke about the benefits of studying at UNSW, citing the University's links with industry and its international flavour as two of its most important strengths. "But it's not all just about hard work," Professor Hilmer said. "UNSW is also about having fun".
