Tim Harcourt, former Chief Economist at Austrade and author of the best-selling book, The Airport Economist , has been appointed the first J.W. Nevile Fellow in Economics at the Australian School of Business (ASB).

Tim brings considerable experience and expertise to UNSW, having also previously worked for the Australian Council of Trade Unions, the Australian Industrial Relations Commission and the Reserve Bank of Australia.

He will teach international business strategy for AGSM Executive Education and will lead an MBA course to China and India in December. Tim's role will also be to promote the study of economics at ASB and to engage with business leaders in Australia and abroad to foster research collaboration.

The J.W. Nevile Fellowship is named in honour of Emeritus Professor John Nevile, whose contributions to UNSW include as Dean of the Faculty of Commerce and Economics, Head of the School of Economics and Director of the Centre for Applied Economic Research.
