David Murray, the Chairman of the Financial System Inquiry and the RBA’s Guy Debelle will speak on Global Financial Stability at the Australasian Finance and Banking Conference as part of the opening Business Forum.

The event, organised by UNSW Business School’s Institute of Global Finance (IGF) will be held in Sydney’s CBD on Tuesday 16 December from 11am to 1.15pm.

Keynote speakers at the forum on the Report on the Financial System Inquiry, Liquidity, and Global Financial Stability include:

·         Mr David Murray AO, Chairman of the Financial System Inquiry.

·         Dr Guy Debelle, Assistant Governor of the Reserve Bank of Australia.

·         Professor Douglas Diamond, Distinguished Professor of Financial Services, the University of Chicago.

·         Commissioner Mike Piwowar, U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.

The Business Forum is the opening event of the 27th Australasian Finance and Banking Conference, organised by IGF at the UNSW Business School, which is the most prestigious finance conference in the Asia-Pacific region, and brings together the world's foremost leaders of thought from the financial community.

Following the Business Forum, Andrew Karolyi from Cornell University will present his talk on “Cracking the Emerging Markets Enigma” at 2.15pm to 3.15pm. He is the executive editor of the Review of Financial Studies, one of the world’s top three finance journals.
