The University of New South Wales is pleased to announce the appointment of Ms Elizabeth Nield to the newly created position of Director, Development.

Ms Nield will be responsible for leading a team of development managers to secure philanthropic support through alumni, business, industry and community groups for UNSW’s research priorities, capital works and Indigenous and low SES programs and scholarships.

Ms Nield, with degrees in Law and Arts, comes to UNSW from Opera Australia, where she was a highly successful Marketing and Communications Director. Previous positions include Marketing and Development Director with the English National Ballet in London and the Bell Shakespeare Company in Sydney.

Chief Executive of UNSW Foundation, Ms Jennifer Bott AO, said she was delighted to welcome Ms Nield, a highly respected colleague, to the university.

“Liz is a highly skilled professional with significant senior management experience, a strong track record in fundraising and excellent networks in Sydney and Melbourne,” Ms Bott said.

“Philanthropic support for the university has increased significantly in recent years and Liz’s experience and attributes make her the ideal person to continue to grow this support."
