UNSW Sydney has been rated as one the top 10 most attractive places to work in Australia.
Recruitment and HR services company Randstad placed UNSW in 7th position overall in its annual Employer Brand Research Report, which ranks the country’s biggest companies by how appealing they appear to potential jobseekers.
Technology giant Apple was the most attractive employer in Australia, with UNSW ranked as the highest placed university on the list, ahead of the University of Melbourne in 16th.

The report was compiled from a phone survey of 9,555 randomly selected Australians who were asked for their perception of the 150 largest private and public employers (by workforce size) in the country.
The respondents were asked to identify the companies they recognised and to indicate whether they would like to work for them. In the next step, they evaluated the relative attractiveness of each of the selected companies based on 10 key factors including salary and benefits, work atmosphere and job content.

Randstad’s Employer Brand Research Report is highly regarded, having been produced since 2000 and now covering more than 25 countries across the globe. UNSW was not placed in the top 20 of the Australian ranking last year.
