Former Chief Justice of the High Court Sir Gerard Brennan will deliver this year’s Hal Wootten lecture at the University of New South Wales on Thursday 23 August.

'Lessons from a Life in the Law' is the topic of the free public talk by Sir Gerard, whose legal career spans more than 60 years, and includes stints as a judge on the Federal Court of Australia, the Hong Kong Court of Final Appeal and as an external judge of the Supreme Court of Fiji.

The annual Hal Wootten Lecture was established in 2006 by UNSW Law in honour of founding dean, Emeritus Professor Hal Wootten.

Doors open at 6pm and the lecture commences promptly at 6.30pm. Refreshments will follow the lecture at 7.30pm.
