Law professor Jane McAdam has been appointed as a Non-Resident Senior Fellow in foreign policy at the Brookings Institution in Washington DC.

McAdam, an ARC Future Fellow, is one of only a handful of Australians to hold such an appointment at Brookings, ranked as the world’s top think tank. The Lowy Institute’s Dr Michael Fullilove – a UNSW law alumnus and Rhodes Scholar – is another.

Her research focus is on international refugee law, in particular on complementary protection and climate change-related displacement and migration.

“It's an enormous honour to be invited to be part of Brookings, and to have the opportunity to collaborate with some of the leading thinkers in international policy,” said McAdam, who will be based in Washington in April, following a presentation at the American Society of International Law conference.
