Get your student life off to a flying start with the biggest on-campus Orientation Week festival in Australia at UNSW.

The University and its student organisation, Arc@UNSW, are offering a packed week of free entertainment, Faculty programs and workshops covering academic, career and life skills, all designed to help make your transition to university as smooth as possible.

“Settling in to university doesn’t have to be an overwhelming experience and we want students to make the most of their time at UNSW,” says Sandra Norris, Director, Student Life and Learning.

“Our Getting Started program ensures students have access to an extensive range of academic, personal and career-related support services.

“We’re seeing record demand for many of our workshops, which have been developed with the assistance of student volunteers so they’re fun and helpful,” she says.

Popular sessions include ‘Tips for transitioning to study at UNSW’, ‘Ways to make your money go further’, and ‘Accommodation – what you need to know’.

It’s easy to get lost during your first weeks on UNSW’s 38-hectare campus so why not join one of the 150 Yellow Shirt student volunteers on a campus tour? Or if you prefer to find your own way around, download the official UNSW Uni-Verse app, which has an interactive map and a host of other resources at your fingertips.

Free daily pancake breakfasts, live music and comedy, outdoor movies and much more will provide opportunities for the class of 2013 to get to know each other.

Vice-Chancellor Professor Fred Hilmer will officially welcome new undergraduate students and their families to UNSW at 6.30pm on Monday, 25 February in the Sir John Clancy Auditorium.
