Four UNSW students are representing Australia at the World University Games, which are currently underway in Serbia.

Johnno Cotterill, who is a fourth year Economics/Commerce student, is one of the key members of the water polo team.

He helped lead them to victory in the first round by shooting three of the team's goals in the 20 - nil win over Canada.

The 21-year-old was named the Australian Junior Player of the Year at the 2008 Australian Water Polo Awards.

George Tang, who is doing a PhD in Materials Science and Engineering, is competing in table tennis. It is the second time George has competed at the World University Games.

Bridey Delaney, 19, is a middle distance runner and a first year Health and Exercise Science student.

Alex Minchin, who is in his fifth year of Solar Energy/Bachelor of Science, is competing in Volleyball.

"All of these students combine their passion for sport with their commitment to study," says Helen Bryson from UNSW Sport and Recreation. "Their outstanding achievements in even getting to the games is remarkable."

The Australian delegation consists of 185 participants.
