Professor Larry Dwyer from the Australian School of Business at UNSW has been elected President of the International Academy for the Study of Tourism.

Australia’s most cited tourism researcher for a decade, Professor Dwyer begins his two-year term next year.

 “I am delighted to have been voted the head of the world’s most prestigious academic tourism academy,” Professor Dwyer said.

“I will use this position to further the cause of tourism in Australia, both domestically and to markets overseas. This is a vital position with which I will emphasise better engagement of the Academy with the various stakeholders in tourism at government, institutional and individual levels.”
