Starting uni in 2016? Come along to UNSW’s Info Day on Tuesday 5 January to find out more about scholarships, internships, exchange programs and UNSW’s new Guaranteed Entry initiative.

“UNSW’s Guaranteed Entry means students whose ATAR is over the guaranteed entry mark can be sure they will have a place at UNSW,” says Future Students manager Jonathan Strauss.

“There will be an information session about the new initiative at Info Day. Prospective students can also check the website to see which degrees will give them guaranteed entry,” he says.

Info Day provides the opportunity to speak with academics, advisers and current students before the close of UAC preferences on 6 January so prospective students can choose the best degree program for their needs.

Current UNSW Engineering/Arts student Jennifer Chang will be one of those available to answer any last-minute questions and provide the low-down on life at university.

“I am extremely excited to be working as a student ambassador on Info Day,” says Jennifer, who has worked as an ambassador for the last four years.

“I will be helping out by leading students to the Advisory Centre, giving out directions, and most importantly, talking to many prospective students about the vibrant student life I have had at UNSW,” she says.

Jennifer says the most common questions she gets asked are ‘Why did you choose UNSW?’ and ‘Why are you doing an Engineering/Arts double degree?’

“I tell students that I chose UNSW after visiting various campuses to see which university was best suited for me personally.

“As for my double degree, Engineering and Arts are both degrees I thoroughly enjoy and I am grateful that UNSW allows me to have the opportunity to complete this degree combination,” she says.
